Sam Duvall joined the Alabama Forestry Association in 2001 as the Director of Communications responsible for association media relations activities and all AFA publications including Alabama Forests and AFA Newsroom.
Early in his career, Sam worked as a political and investigative reporter for the Montgomery Advertiser and later for the Birmingham News covering state politics including the Governor’s Office, the Legislature, the Attorney General and other constitutional offices. He also served in Governor Guy Hunt’s first administration as the Governor’s Legislative Liaison to the House of Representatives and, after working in his re-election campaign, served as head of the Governor’s Liaison Office during Hunt’s second term. During Governor Fob James’ second term, Sam served in the Governor’s Chief of Staff’s office.
Sam earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and is a United States Army veteran.
