Dear Forest Landowners,

The Lee County Forestry Stewardship Committee has scheduled a Spring Landowner Meeting for Thursday, April 25th at the Mary Olive Thomas Demonstration Forest.

Sign-In will begin at 4:15PM. We will begin our tour at 4:45PM. There have been several changes to the Demonstration Forest over the last 2 years, including harvest, thinning, burning, and replanting. The tour will view several areas on the property and we will discuss the ongoing management as well as future management goals for the property. There will be time for Q&A throughout and after the tour. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions you may have about thinning, clearcutting, or other management operations. With the recent damage from the March 3 tornado in Lee County, we will also answer questions regarding natural disasters and your forest.

Supper will be served following the completion of our tour. Agency personnel from AFC, NRCS, ADCNR and ACES will be in attendance and available for questions regarding managing your properties.

A $10.00pp fee will help cover the cost of supper and can be paid that evening.

To assure we have enough food, please pre-register through the Lee County Extension Office by close of business on Monday April 22rd.

To register, call 334-749-3353 or come by in person @ 600 S. 7th St. Opelika.

Come out, ask questions, and fellowship with other landowners!

I hope to see you at this event!

Sincerely,

Jordan Graves
