What: Bats & Forests Workshop in Alabama


When:  September 10, 2019


Where:  Cleburne Mountain Center in Heflin, Alabama with a field trip to the Shoal Creek Ranger District of the Talladega National Forest


Objectives of the workshop include raising awareness about forest bats and providing tools to natural resource professionals, specifically,

-Best forest management practices for bats  (silviculture, timber harvesting and fire)

-Management implications/Listed bat consultation and management requirements (FWS)

-Benefits of bats to forests

-Habitat Assessment


Target Audience is Wildlife Biologists, Foresters, Silviculturists, District Conservationists and other Natural Resources Professionals and students with responsibilities for forest land management


We hope to offer CFE’s for Foresters and Wildlife Biologists!
